Carlene Maire Frerichs, 81, of Allen, died Monday, Oct. 14, 2024 at MercyOne Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa.
Private family inurnment will be in East View Cemetery in Allen at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Wakefield.
Carlene Maire Frerichs was born Nov. 11, 1942 in Sioux City, Iowa to Irvin and Ella M. (Kovarna) Frerichs. She was one of five children. She attended school in Allen, graduating in 1961. She worked as a Nurse Aide in the Nursing Home and later returned to the family dairy farm where she worked for several years, caring for the calves.
Carlene was a member of the Allen United Methodist Church in Allen. She liked bird watching, listening to the radio, and reading. She also liked tending to her flowers and sending cards for special occasions.
Survivors include her sister, Mary Ann Frerichs of Allen; brothers, Robert (Nancy) Frerichs of Allen and Darrel Frerichs of Wisner; nieces and nephews; and great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded by her parents; her brother, John Frerichs; her sister-in-law, Mairlyn Frerichs; two cousins, Gordon Sitzman and Dale Kovarna; aunts and uncles.
