The purchase of a tractor for use in District 2 and carpeting on the main floor of the Wayne County Courthouse were among the items on the agenda when the Wayne County Board of Commissioners met in regular session on Tuesday.

District 2 Commissioner Matt Eischeid told the commissioners he has done considerable research into finding a tractor that best meets the needs of his district.

Following discussion, Eischeid was given permission to move forward with the purchase. The tractor would not be delivered until after Oct. 1 of this year.

Wayne County Emergency Manager Nic Kemnitz came before the commissioners to ask for permission to allow Dixon County to use the Wayne County pull-behind generator on April 13 and 14. The generator would be used as Dixon County replaces its existing tower generators at Newcastle and Allen

Kemnitz also shared information on Severe Weather Awareness Week and several trainings he will be attending in coming weeks.

County Treasurer Lisa Lindsay presented information to the commissioners on the tax sale that took place recently.

She said there were six parcels of land involved but no investors came forward during the sale. Since that time, the taxes on one of the parcels has been paid.

Also on Tuesday's agenda was discussion on carpet for the main floor of the courthouse.

Treasurer Lindsay said she felt the carpet for the main floor should be darker than that which was used on the second floor and that the carpet should be the same color throughout the floor.

Bids will be obtained before moving forward with the project.

Commissioners also talked about updating lighting in the annex building.

Wayne County Board of Commissioners will next meet in regular session on Tuesday, April 7 at 9 a.m. in the Wayne County Courtroom.
