Community generosity provides hundreds of books for Allen Consolidated Schools

Generosity and school spirit came together in a big way recently as Allen Consolidated Schools celebrated the completion of its Book Blast reading fundraiser. The initiative, aimed at boosting childhood literacy and putting fresh reading material directly into home environments, proved to be a resounding success across the district.

Thanks to the extraordinary backing of local families, friends and community supporters, the event raised over $8,000 to advance student literacy. As a direct result of those funds, more than 600 brand-new, age-appropriate books were delivered to 72 students in grades PreK through sixth, with participating students taking home up to 10 books each to launch or expand their personal collections.
