Community invited to celebrate Dolly Parton on September 25

Posted

The Wayne Area Dolly Parton Imagination Library is honoring Dolly’s legacy by encouraging donations on Sept. 25 as a nod to Parton’s famous song, “9 to 5.”

Other individuals and organizations around the nation are doing similar acts, such as country singer Garth Brooks, who announced on Aug. 31 that his Nashville-based bar will recognize Sept. 25 as “Dolly Day.” All proceeds made at the restaurant and bar on that day will be donated to her imagination library.

Here in Wayne County, there will be opportunities to donate online, with a donor matching each dollar donated up to $2,500 on Sept. 25.
