Funeral services for Connie J. Nydahl Ambroz, 75, of Winside will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 6 the Winside United Methodist Church in Winside. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5 at Hasemann Funeral Home in Wayne. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery Wayne
Connie died Friday, Jan. 31, 2025 at the Providence Medical Center in Wayne.
Memorial funds in memory of Connie will be designated at a future date.
Arrangements are with Hasemann Funeral Home in Wayne.
Connie Jo Nydahl Kopecky was born Aug. 18, 1949 in Norfolk to Malvin Thomas and Margaret Lydia (Miller) Nydahl of Winside. She was baptized at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Winside. She attended District #24 Elementary School and Winside Junior/Senior High School.
After her graduation in 1967, Connie attended the Nettleton Business School in Sioux City, Iowa. She then worked in Norfolk. On Sept. 5, 1970 she married Lonnie Kopecky. The couple moved to Grand Island, and Connie continued her education by taking computer classes. On July 28, 1975, she gave birth to their son, Josh Kopecky. When her father became ill, Connie moved to the family farm near Winside. She cared for her father, Malvin, helped with tending the farm, and worked as a clerk at the Pac’N’Save Grocery Store in Wayne. Connie was a past recipient of the Wayne Ambassadors’ Quarterly Congeniality Award. She loved her many cats and kittens and always made sure they got the best of care. She was also meticulous about the upkeep of the farm place. It was a wonderful thing to see.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret in 1997; father, Malvin in 2001 and her only son, Josh in 1998.
Survivors include a number of cousins and by many loving friends who will miss her deeply.
