Conrey John Munson was born Nov. 9, 1927, in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Arthur and Esther (Nelson) Munson. He graduated from Wakefield High School in 1944 and attended Wayne State College. Con served in the United States Navy from 1945 to 1947, stationed in Texas, Washington and Alaska. After an honorable discharge from the service, Con returned to the Wakefield area, where he farmed with his Dad and brother. On Dec. 4, 1960, he married Ardyce Koch. Con and Ardyce made their home on the farm together until her passing in 2007. He continued to enjoy life on the farm until this past year.

Con enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, farming, and raising cattle. He had a passion for Nebraska sports, the Kansas City Chiefs, playing cards (especially poker), and enjoying a cold one with friends and family.  He loved making people smile with his annual Christmas letters. He was a giving person, serving as a church elder and secretary for Grace Lutheran Church, was a member of the Wakefield American Legion Post #81, and most importantly, a great Dad and Grandpa.

Survivors include his daughters, Julie Munson of Wakefield and Heidi Munson of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and grandson, Anthony Munson of Madison, Wisconsin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Ardyce, and siblings, Carmen Munson and Carroll Munson.
