Following road competition, Laurel-Concord-Coleridge returned to their home gridiron on September 19 hosting Lutheran High Northeast.
From Laurel, LCC won 56-12 over the visiting Eagles to improve to 2-2. Lutheran High Northeast fell to 1-3.
LCC first scored six points in the opening quarter before outscoring Lutheran High Northeast, 15-6 in the second quarter to lead 21-6 at half.
The Bears then added 19 points in the third quarter and used a 16-6 advantage in the fourth.
Sophomore Drey Puppe finished 4-8 for 69 yards and one passing score. He also ran the ball 13 times for 99 yards and two touchdowns.
Junior Tanner Thompson led the ground attack with 11 attempts for 157 yards (long of 68) and four touchdowns. He also had two catches for 10 yards.
Junior Talon Carson hauled in two passes for 59 yards and one score
Sophomore Dayton Korth tallied eight rushes for 32 yards.
Senior Kolten Settje recorded a team-high 11 tackles (eight solo) with two tackles for loss followed by junior Kyle Rasmussen with six tackles (three solo) and two tackles for loss.
Puppe (three solo), Carson (three solo) and sophomore Parker Hoeppner (one solo) all had four tackles. Junior Cade Johnson also had a tackle for loss.
Turnovers were forced by Puppe and Carson both with interceptions as sophomore Anderson Hall recovered a fumble.
In special teams, Parker Hoppner posted a 67-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.
Laurel-Concord-Coleridge will next travel to Tilden on Friday, September 26 visiting Elkhorn Valley. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
