Cora "Lucy" Harrison, 91, of Wakefield, died Friday, Feb, 10, 2023 at the Wakefield Health Care Center in Wakefield.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Feb. 14 from 4 until 6 p.m. at the Bressler – Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home in Wakefield. A private graveside funeral will be held in the Wakefield Cemetery in Wakefield.
Memorials are suggested to the family or the Wakefield Fire and Rescue.
Arrangements are with Bressler – Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home in Wakefield.
Lucille was born Dec. 10, 1931 on a farm north of Emerson, the daughter of Frank Elmon and Nettie Marie (Wright) Rhods. She attended country school two miles from her home. While attending school, she helped raise her three brothers, and work on the farm. She later worked in cafes in Wakefield and went on to work at the Wakefield Schools as a cook and eventually, the head cook. Lucille married Thomas Harrison on Oct. 21, 1957, on the same day as her parent's 37th wedding anniversary. To this union two daughters were born, Connie and Bonnie. She loved to cook and bake, and had a very green thumb, and enjoyed her flowers and raising a big garden with her husband, Tom every year. She had several houseplants and loved growing African Violets.
Survivors include her daughters, Connie (Dave) Stuthmann of Wayne, and Bonnie (Mike) Crom of Wakefield; a brother, Harvey (Irene) Rhods of Wakefield; sister-in-law, Reta Rhods of Wayne; a brother-in-law, Bill Harrison of Norfolk; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tom; two brothers, Donald Alson Rhods, and Earl Rhods; two sisters-in-law, Bertha Rhods, and Gail Harrison.
