Approval was given for the purchase of a bucket truck for the Electric Department and a water truck for the Water/Wastewater Department as discussion was held on a purchase agreement for a parcel of land along Highway 35 during Tuesday's meeting of the Wayne City Council.
Discussion was held, with council members eventually going into closed session, in regard to a purchase agreement received by the city for a piece of property owned by Jim and Dawn Casey.
City Administrator Wes Blecke presented pictures of the property that includes the Sports Club Motel and adjacent property and told the council that several plats need to be vacated in order for the Casey's to obtain a clean title on the land.
In other action, council members approved payments on two projects currently underway in the city.
The Wayne City Council will next meet in regular session on Monday, Oct. 19 at 5:30 p.m. in council chambers.
