Council discusses replat of subdivision

Steps were taken to vacate the final plat of a subdivision and create a new one on the same piece of land during Monday's meeting of the Wayne City Council.

City Planner Joel Hansen told the council that the developer of what is currently known as Sawyer Addition has decided to change the nature of the development.

A request from the Mid States Conference Art Show to waive the rental fee for the Wayne City Auditorium for the upcoming art show to be held April 6-10 was approved.

Wayne Community Schools Superintendent Dr. Mark Lenihan, came to the council with the request, noting the show has been held in Wayne the past two years and has been "well received."

In other action, the council approved a change order and substantial completion document for the Wayne Seventh Street Trail Project.

Bids for the Wayne Prairie Park Development - Phase 4 - Baseball Fields Project were received and discussed.

Council members set Monday, March 30 as the date for a council retreat. It will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the 1100 East 10th Street Building.

The Wayne City Council will next meet in regular session on Monday, March 16 at 5:30 p.m. in the city council chambers.
