DAVID CITY – The Wayne High cross country team had one medalist and came away with a sixth-place finish in girls competition Thursday at the Aquinas Invitational.
Hannah Leonard was the lone Blue Devil to earn a medal, finishing 10th in 21:00.8. Also running for the Wayne varsity girls were Andrea Torres (21st), Gabie Meyer (27th), Marta Pulfer (30th), Caitlin Janke (34th) and Maddie Beair (38th).
The Wayne High boys finished 12th on the day, led by Jack Evetovich with a time of 20:09.1, good for fifth place. Also running were Will Anderson (53rd), Brandon Wacker (55th), Cole Hobza (70th) and Lucas Longe (78th).
Wayne will host the Mid State Conference meet on Thursday at the Wayne Country Club.
