Cross country teams run at Griak Invite

The Wayne State men’s and women’s cross country teams saw action Saturday in the Roy Griak University of Minnesota Invitational, held in St. Paul, Minn.

The Wayne State men finished 30th out of 41 teams and were led by senior Antoine Bardou, who placed 66th in a field of 450 runners with a time of 27:35 on the 8,000-meter course.

Other finishes for the Wayne State men included Jack Doughty (29:21, 186th), Isaias Solorio (29:41, 206th), Brock Hegarty (29:57, 214th), Nathan Pearson (31:03, 237th), Bailey Peckham (31:37, 246th) and Nathan Heimer (34:50, 259th).

In women’s action, the Wildcats were 33rd out of 41 teams and were led by Molly McCartney, who placed 157th with a time of 25:53. She was followed by Joan Jalimo, who was 189th in 26:44.

Other WSC runners included Kim Lowman (26:59, 209th), Brianna Crouch (27:16, 218th), Josephine Peitz (29:04, 249th) and Sabrina Sack (30:19, 256th).

The Wildcats will be back in action Saturday, Oct. 7, in the Briar Cliff Invitational at McCook Lake, S.D.
