Crush 10u compete in Seward

A Northeast Nebraska Crush youth baseball team played to a 2-1-1 weekend record to end May and open June.

From the Jr Jays Invitational in Seward, Crush 10u took over May 31 - June 1 with two games each day.

The Crush began with an 11-11 tie against Lincoln Expos 10u followed by an 8-3 victory over Jr Jays 10u on Saturday, Moving into Sunday, Crush 10u won 9-1 over Jr Jays 10u before ending with a 10-6 loss to NBA Titans 10u Blue. The Crush now sit 18-3-1 on the season.

Leaders at the plate for the weekend were Kyson Garcia and Ryan Magnuson both with five hits (four singles, one double).

Garcia and Magnuson both posted a team-high five RBI as Gavin Prince crossed the plate five times.

Magnuson (112 pitches) worked six of the 20 innings pitched appearing in three games and starting one. He allowed four earned runs off four hits while striking out 11 batters and walking six.

Andrew Smith (116) also pitched six innings appearing in three games and starting two. He allowed eight earned runs off 11 hits while striking out 13 batters, walking two and hitting one.

Crush 10u will next compete in Sioux Falls, South Dakota June 6 - 8.
