Dale Robert Krusemark, 94, of Pender, died Tuesday, June 29, 2021, surrounded by his family at his home in Pender.  

Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 6 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender, with a prayer service starting at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 7 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Pender, with Pastor Karen McNeill-Utecht officiating.  Burial with military honors will be in Rosehill Cemetery in Pender.  

Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender. 

Dale Robert Krusemark was born Feb. 12, 1927 in Pender to Fred L. and Emma Rose (Fuscher) Krusemark.  Dale was baptized on June 5, 1927 and was confirmed on March 17, 1940 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Pender. He attended and graduated from Pender High School in 1944. Dale served in the United States Army during the Korean War.  Dale married Margaret “Peggy” (Buchholz) on Jan. 3, 1951, in Caledonia, Minnesota.  Together the couple had three children, Jacqueline “Jackie”, Dale “Scott”, and Robin. 

Dale was a lifelong farmer and cattle feeder in northeast Nebraska and was the founder of JDR Farms, Inc. He was proud of his military history and was an active member in the Pender Legion and VFW. On Memorial Day weekend, Dale would provide everyone helping setup flags with donuts to show his appreciation for their help. Dale and Peggy enjoyed traveling all over the world and traveling on many cruise ships with their family and friends and would occasionally stop at a casino and play the slot machines. Dale liked hosting parties and spoiling his children and grandchildren. Dale enjoyed his daily stops down to Smith's Farm Service to get the "News of the Day" from his friends and occasionally snag a big bag of popcorn to bring home.   

Survivors include his wife, Margaret “Peggy” Krusemark of Pender; son, Dale “Scott” (Joanne) Krusemark of Wisner; daughters, Jacqueline “Jackie” (Gene) Elsasser of Springdale, Arkansas, Robin (Greg) Christiansen of Pender; grandchildren, Joel Elsasser, Jaime Elsasser, Jodi Morrison, Brandie Krusemark, Jona Keeler, Karlee Peterson, Cole Christiansen; nine great-grandsons; one great-granddaughter; one great-great-granddaughter; sister, Barbara Greve of Wayne; brother, Larry (Dorothy) Krusemark of Pender.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Donald (Miriam) Krusemark; and a brother-in-law, Howard Greve.
