Darrell D. Doescher, 81, of Wayne, died Friday, June 2, 2023 at the Wakefield Healthcare Center.
A memorial visitation will be planned for a later date.
Memorials may be directed to the Doescher family for later designation.
Arrangements are with Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne.
Darrell Duaine Doescher was born June 20, 1941 in Laurel to Leslie “Lec” and Mary Elizabeth (McCaw) Doescher. He graduated from Dixon High School and later Southeast Community College in Milford. Darrell worked in Sioux City where he met Evelyn Kay White. They were married March 25, 1961 at Grace Lutheran Church in Wayne. The couple moved to Wayne in 1963, where Darrell operated Doescher Appliance in Wayne for 53 years.
Survivors include his sons, Dave (Jan) Doescher of Wayne and Doug (Michelle) Doescher of Wayne; grandchildren, Jordyn Sutter of Tucson, Arizona, Trent (Brittany) Doescher of Lincoln, Taylor Doescher of Omaha, and Mackenzie Doescher of Gibbon; great-grandchildren, Bexley and Rhett Sutter; brothers, Keith Doescher and Donovan Doescher of Wayne; sister, Donna (Gordon) Miller of Norfolk; brother-in-law, Vern Schulz of Wayne; nieces; nephews and special friend, Angie Blattert of Wakefield.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn in 2013; parents, Leslie “Lec” and Mary Doescher; brother, Kenny Doescher and sister, Dolores “Dee” (Doescher) Schulz.
