Dean Bruggeman Jr., 78, of Gretna, died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2023.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 24 at Gretna Methodist Church. Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 25 at Gretna United Methodist Church, located at 11457 S 204th Street in Gretna.
Memorials may be directed to the Gretna United Methodist Church or Heartland Neurological Therapy and Wellness Center.

Dean Bruggeman Jr. was born March 26, 1945 in Laredo, Texas, to Dean Sr. and Mary Bruggeman. He married Diane Reeg on July 31, 1966 in Wayne. They resided in Wayne for 45 years, where he was active in the community. He retired in 2011, and he and Diane moved to the Omaha area to be near their children and grandchildren.
Dean really loved being outdoors, whether fishing or hunting, but most of all he loved attending all of his children’s and grandchildren’s activities over the years. He was a very present husband, father, and grandfather and will be missed dearly. Dean donated his body to science to help further research for Parkinson’s Disease.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Diane; daughter, Marnie (Kyle) Nixon; son, Matt (Ronda) Bruggeman; five grandchildren, McKenna, Morgan, Tristan, Keegan, and Braxton; sister, Penny (Brent) Johnson and many relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Sandra Hall.
