Dendinger repeats as NSIC top athlete

For the second straight week, Michaela Dendinger of Wayne State College was named the Northern Sun Conference Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week following her performance over the weekend at the Concordia Invitational in Seward.

The junior recorded one NCAA automatic mark while winning two events and placing second in another at the Concordia Invite in Seward. She took first place in the discus with an NCAA automatic qualifying mark of 172 feet, 10 inches, which ranks fifth in NCAA Div. II. She also won the shot put at 50-5 1/4 and was second in the hammer throw with a top mark of 201-8, marking the second time this season Dendinger recorded a throw of over 200 feet.

Dendinger leads the NSIC in all three events and ranks first in NCAA Div. II in the hammer throw, third in the shot put and fifth in the discus.
