Dennis R. Puls, 91, of Hoskins, died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2025 at the Norfolk Veterans Home in Norfolk.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 5 at Peace Church, rural Hoskins. Officiating the service will be Pastor Clark Jenkinson. Military rites will be provided by the American Legion Post 16, V.F.W. Post 1644, of Norfolk and the United States Army Honor Guard. Inurnment will take place at 3 p.m., Wednesday, at the Spring Branch Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 - 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4 at Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Norfolk.

Dennis R. Puls was born on Aug.t 7, 1933 in Hoskins to Reuben and Rose (Miller) Puls. He was baptized at the Peace Church in 1933 and confirmed in 1946 also at the Peace Church. Dennis graduated from Hoskins High School in 1950. Dennis served in the United States Army from Aug. 31, 1953 to May 31, 1955. Dennis married Ramona Seavey April 12, 1953 at Grace Evangelical & Reformed Church in Sioux City, Iowa. After married the couple farmed, raised livestock, and milked cows in the Hoskins area. Dennis enjoyed working on the farm.
Dennis was a 4-H Leader for 25 years, involved with men’s chorus for 21 years, as well as enjoying card clubs, and square dancing. Dennis was a member of Peace Church rural Hoskins, served on different church boards, member of the American Legion, Farm Bureau, Hoskins School Board, and DeKalb Seed Dealer.
Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Ramona Puls; children, Denise (Gary) Morton of Perth Amboy, New Jersey, Renee (Craig) Schnieder of Davey, Dianne (Reg) Gnirk of Hoskins and Russel (Traci) Puls of Hoskins; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; brothers Darwin (DeAnna) Puls of Georgia, Dallas (Janice) Puls of Norfolk, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Reuben and Rose; brother, Darrel, and an infant brother.
Casket bearers will be Jason Schnieder, Jeff Schnieder, Dylan Puls, Evan Puls, Jared Puls and Dustin Puls.
