After playing twice on the road the week prior, the Dirt Devil 10s Red youth softball team was back on the road on May 28.
From West Point, the Dirt Devils visited both West Point Diamonds 10u and West Point Gray 10u.
In their opening game, Dirt Devil 10s Red suffered a 12-6 loss to Diamonds 10u followed by an 11-5 victory over Gray 10u. The Dirt Devils are now 8-5 on the season.
During their opening loss, West Point Diamonds used a 4-2 advantage in the first inning before outscoring Dirt Devil 10s Red 3-2 in the second and 5-2 in the third.
Final favored West Point Diamonds 10u winning 12-6 despite being outhit, 3-0. Both teams committed one error.
Delilah Lueth tripled, drove in two runs and scored as Kiersten Allen singled, drove in a run and scored.
Charli Sears singled and drove in two runs; KayLee Nelson scored twice as Finn Mueller and Bianca Hanson both scored.
Caroline Endicott (28 pitches) started the opening inning and didn't record an out allowing four earned runs while walking five batters and hitting one. Lueth (38) worked an inning allowing three earned runs while striking out two batters and walking six. Brynlee Suhr (30) pitched an inning allowing two earned runs while striking out two batters and walking four. Paisllie Erwin (27) followed and didn't record an out allowing three earned runs while walking four batters and hitting two.
From the game two win, West Point Gray took an early 5-3 lead after the first inning. Dirt Devil 10s Red followed with a run in the top of the second, two runs in the third and closed with a five-run top of the fourth.
Final favored Dirt Devil 10s Red winning 11-5 while outhitting the second West Point team (Gray 10u), 5-0. The Dirt Devils didn't commit an error compared to two by their opponent.
Nelson tripled, drove in a run and scored twice; Endicott singled, doubled, drove in two runs and scored twice as Lueth doubled and scored.
Sears singled, drove in two runs and scored; Allen accounted for a RBI and run scored; Suhr added a RBI; Mueller scored twice as Meleah Larson and Hanson both scored.
Allen (35 pitches) started the opening third of an inning allowing five earned runs while striking out one batter, walking five and hitting three. Mueller (41) worked two innings striking out six batters, walking two and hitting one. Nelson (22) closed out the final inning striking out two batters, walking two and hitting one.
