Dirt Devil 12s, 10 Red in action May 22

Following a weekend tournament in Norfolk earlier this month, the Dirt Devil 12s played host to Norfolk Golden Girls Spiegel 12u while Dirt Devil 10s Red traveled to Ta-Ha-Zouka Park in Norfolk visiting Kelly's 9u both on May 22.

From the Summer Sports Complex in Wayne on May 22, the Dirt Devils picked up an 11-2 victory followed by a 5-5 tie. The Dirt Devils are now 6-6-1 on the season. 

In the game one victory, Sadi Fredrickson and Harper Hanson both singled and scored twice as Willa Ruth singled, drove in a run and scored.

Fredrickson (57 pitches) picked up the complete game victory in three innings allowing two runs (one earned) off three hits while striking out and walking three batters each. 

During the tie, Fredrickson and Zoe Myer both singled, doubled and scored; Hanson doubled, drove in two runs and scored as Penelope Zavada-Cupp singled twice and drove in two runs.

Williamson (70 pitches) worked all three innings allowing five runs (four earned) off six hits while striking out seven batters, walking three and hitting two.

Dirt Devil 10s Red suffered a 9-7 loss followed by a 17-4 win to now sit 7-4 on the season.

In the opening game, KayLee Nelson singled twice, drove in a run and scored twice for the Dirt Devils.

Brynlee Suhr (70 pitches) suffered the loss in an inning and two-thirds allowing nine earned runs off two hits while striking out five batters, walking eight and hitting one. During the second outing, Lueth recorded a game ending grand slam, singled and scored three total runs; Allen doubled and scored as Erwin singled, drove in two runs and scored twice.

Endicott (66 pitches) picked up the win in two and a third innings allowing four earned runs off two hits while striking out four batters and walking seven. Lueth (16) closed out the final two-thirds walking two batters.
