A win streak continued from May 27 through May 29 for the Dirt Devil 14 & under youth softball team.
The Dirt Devils visited DC West 14u on Thursday taking care of business in a 17-2 and 17-1 sweep. The Dirt Devil 14s are now 5-4 on the season.
During the opener, the Dirt Devils used a 13-1 first inning followed by a four-run second. Dirt Devil 14U recorded 12 hits.
Ady Hays doubled, tripled, drove in four runs and scored three times; Sidney Nelson doubled, drove in a run and scored twice as Chloe Kai doubled, drove in a run and scored.
Reagan McManigal singled twice, drove in two runs and scored; Lucille Ocampo singled, drove in two runs and scored; Hadley Woehler singled, drove in a run and scored three times; Elizabeth Hix singled, drove in a run and scored twice; Josie Haglund singled and drove in a run; Abbey Shultheis singled and scored; Hadley Dunklau singled; Olivia Brandow accounted for two RBI and two runs scored as Avery Gubbels added a RBI.
Ocampo (22 pitches) started the opening inning allowing an earned run off one hit while striking out and walking one batter each. Dunklau (44) worked an inning and two-thirds allowing one run off one hit while striking out four batters, walking one and hitting three.
During the second outing, the Dirt Devil 14s continued their hot bats with a 12-run first inning followed by five more runs in the second. Dirt Devil 14U recorded nine hits.
Ocampo singled twice, drove in two runs and scored twice; Hays tripled and scored twice; Woehler doubled and scored as McManigal singled twice and scored twice.
Gubbels singled and drove in three runs; Nelson and Shultheis both singled and scored; Brandow accounted for three RBI and two runs scored; Kai tallied a RBI and two runs scored; Hix scored twice as Haglund and Dunklau both crossed the plate once.
Brandow (46 pitches) picked up the complete game victory in three innings allowing an earned run off one hit while striking out four batters, walking one and hitting two.
