Dirt Devil 14s win twice; 10s Red/Black, 12s prepare for League Tournament

After having a week night doubleheader canceled, the Dirt Devil 14s took to the road later in the week.

From West Point, the Dirt Devils visited West Point 14U on June 20.

The Dirt Devil 14s (14-12) won 17-0 and 5-3 at West Point.

In the opening game, the Dirt Devils scored six runs in the first inning followed by a seven-run second to lead 13-0. The Dirt Devil 14s added four more runs in the third to win 17-0 and outhit West Point, 10-0.

Kinnley McGuire singled, tripled, drove in a run and scored twice; Kamden Dobbins tripled, drove in a run and scored twice; Sidney Nelson doubled, drove in three runs and scored as Elizabeth Hix doubled and scored twice. Lilly Johnson singled twice, drove in three runs and scored twice while Anna Dutcher singled twice, drove in two runs and scored twice.

Olivia Brandow singled and scored twice; Kaylei McIntosh accounted for a RBI and run scored as Sophie Gearhart, Abbey Shultheis and Alivia Kesting all scored.

McGuire (44 pitches) picked up the complete game shut-out, no-hit victory in three innings while striking out four batters an walking one.

During the second outing, the Dirt Devil 14s led 3-2 after the first inning and added to their lead thanks to a run in the third. Both teams scored a run in the fourth as final favored the Dirt Devils winning 5-3 and outhitting West Point, 5-4.

Johnson tripled and scored twice while Anna Dutcher singled, drove in a run and scored.

Dobbins singled and drove in a run; McGuire singled and scored; McIntosh singled as Hix scored.

Johnson (35 pitches) picked up the win in an inning allowing two earned runs off one hit while striking out one batter and walking three. McGuire (47) worked three innings allowing an earned run off three hits while striking out four batters, walking one and hitting two.
