The Wayne Dirt Devils 14-under softball team split two home games Thursday night.
Wayne opened with a 17-3 loss to Pender. Kayla Fleming, Nikki Fertig, and Mady Sievers led the Dirt Devils with two singles apiece. Tori Ostrand, Amara Hurlbert, and MiKenzie Schaefer each had a single. Fleming and Hurlbert split time in the circle.
The Dirt Devils got the 16-3 win over Wisner in the second game of the night. Hurlbert pitched a full game, striking out three and walking five. Fleming, Ostrand, and Hurlbert each had a triple. Fertig had two singles. Schaefer and Aliah Schulz both had a double. Sievers had a single.
The 4-5 Dirt Devils play host to their tournament this weekend at the Wayne Summer Sports Complex.
