The B-4 district softball tournament at Wisner City Park was postponed on Thursday due to rain in the area, and the outlook isn't good for a resumption of the tournament on Friday.
Rain is in the forecast throughout the day Friday and a slight chance of rain is expected on Saturday, which could force the Nebraska School Activities Association to change the tournament to a single-elimination event on Monday so that the qualifiers can be set before Wednesday's opening round of the state tournament in Hastings.
Wayne is the No. 1 seed in the tournament and is scheduled to face the winner of the Columbus Lakeview vs. Wisner-Pilger matchup in the seven-team bracket. Wayne Community Schools will have an announcement on the status of the tournament schedule later Friday morning.
