Rotary Club of Wayne will host a Launch Party for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library on Monday, May 18 at the Wayne Public Library from 6-7 p.m.
Families living in Wayne County with children from birth up to age 5 are invited to visit the library and sign up for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program that mails free, high-quality books to children, no matter their family’s income.
In 1995, Dolly Parton launched an exciting new effort, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, to benefit the children of her home county in East Tennessee, USA. Dolly’s vision was to foster a love of reading among her county’s preschool children and their families.
Today, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library sends more than one million books per month to children around the world inspiring them to Dream More, Learn More, Care More and Be More.
Wayne County will be one of 53 counties in Nebraska now participating in the program.
The books are funded through donations from local individuals, organizations and business sponsors.
