Don F. Liedman, 82, of Carroll, died suddenly Friday, June 16, 2023 at his farm home near Carroll.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 23 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Wayne. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 22 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Wayne. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Norfolk.

Memorials may be directed to Nebraska Farm Bureau Ag In The Classroom program and Our Savior Lutheran Church.

Arrangements are with Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne.

Donald Fred Liedman was born April 27, 1941 in Randolph, to Fred and Ella  (Warneke) Liedman. Don graduated from Randolph High School and attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. He married Dorrine Tonack on May 28, 1984 in Randolph. Together, they lived at the home place in rural Carroll. Don was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Wayne, where he served as an usher for many years.  He traveled extensively both in the United States and to Europe, where he visited family in Germany.  

Don was a member of Farm Bureau and was very passionate about the Nebraska Agriculture in the Classroom, a statewide program that helps K-12 students and teachers develop an awareness and understanding of agriculture. It was important to him to educate future generations by providing scholarships for both agriculture and nursing. Don’s first love was his farming and enjoyed his time gardening and his flowers.

Survivors include his stepdaughters, Ruth Wathen and Cathy (Ron) Patch; stepsons, Brian (Ellen) Tonack and Dale Tonack; grandchildren; great-grandchildren and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Ella; wife, Dorrine in 2013; stepdaughter, Carol Ehrman and stepson, Robert Tonack.
