Doniver was born to Albin and Esther Peterson of Concord, Nebraska on Feb. 13, 1937. He graduated from Concord High School in 1954 before continuing his education at Luther Junior College in Wahoo where he met his future wife, Arlen Clara Johnson. He later earned his Seminary degree from Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois, graduating in Detroit in 1962, preparing him for a lifetime of service and ministry.

He went on to faithfully serve congregations in Wayne, Nebraska; Gering, Nebraska; LaSalle, Colorado and Paxton, Nebraska.  After 40 years of service in the ministry, he and Arlen retired in Greeley Colorado.

Outside of the ministry, Doniver loved bicycling and hiking and summitted Longs Peak in Colorado three times. His rich singing voice was a gift to every choir he joined. His curiosity for technology—whether learning a new gadget or exploring a software program—always kept him smiling.

He is survived by; daughters Marcia Lynn (Brian) Hutton and Catherine Marie Peterson (Paul) Shuckhart, son Steven Doniver (Colette) Peterson; brother Neal Peterson; brother and sister-in-law Gail and Anita Johnson; and four nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Arlen C. Peterson in 2014 and his parents. Their reunion brings comfort to those who will miss him deeply.
