Private graveside services for Dorothy Marie Kvols, 100, of Fort Collins, Colorado, formerly of Wayne will be held Sunday, May 11 at Greenwood Cemetery in Wayne. There is no visitation.

Dorothy Marie Kvols, died Friday, Nov. 8, 2024 in Fort Collins, Colorado. Born on Nov. 19, 1923 in Laurel, Dorothy was the daughter of Albert and Lucille (Lathaw) Thompson.

Dorothy and Damon were married in 1942, and together they raised their family, first on a farm in Nebraska, then later in New Mexico. A devoted mother and active member of her community, Dorothy became a cherished figure in Tucumcari, New Mexico, where she served as the Director of the Chamber of Commerce for 35 years. She was also deeply involved in the Altrusa Club, the Red Hat Ladies, and the Center Street Methodist Church.

In 2016, Dorothy moved to Bellvue, Colorado, with family where she found great joy in the beauty of the Rocky Mountains. Throughout her life, she was known for her warm, loving spirit, her impeccable sense of style, and her unwavering devotion to family and community.

She is survived by her brother, Marvin and sister, Arlys (Roger) Withee; her children, Larry (Martha), Marolyn (Roger), and Nancy (Tony);  grandchildren Michael, Laura, Kris, Sarah, and Melissa; as well as many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Damon (1921–1970),  parents, and siblings: Helen Gould, James,  and Albert Dale.
