An open house meeting pertaining to Wayne's downtown streetscape master plan allowed business owners between the 100 and 300 blocks along with all community members to see and hear an update from the committee.
From the City Auditorium on July 29, there were multiple stations with members of the DOT, local members of the Downtown Improvement & Safety Committee (DISC) and JEO Consulting (City engineer) to showcase and answer any questions what downtown Wayne could be going towards.
What the City of Wayne has been hearing from the downtown businesses, is the pavers are deteriorating after being installed 20 years ago and have sunken.
The Department of Transportation will be repairing the curbs but not replacing them which will soon begin.
Grant funding is the next major step the City of Wayne will be looking to acquire and complete the projects in phases a couple of blocks at a time.
A comment section was also offered at the end of the open house.
