Gathered by his teammates and family, a northeast Nebraska high school football player will take the next step to the college ranks next fall.
With one more being rescheduled, a fourth Wayne High senior put ink to the paper and signed to compete at the next level.
Jaden Dramse will attend Midland University and be on the football team.
The Wayne senior said it was an easy decision with a great school and several friends that have attended along with his dad, Dave being an alum as well.
“Then the football program itself, pretty good program I’d say at least,” said Dramse. “What is it like, 19 winning seasons in a row or something; pretty prestigious.”
Dramse plans to study nursing setting a goal to follow what dad’s line of work as a nurse anesthetic.
He will be competing on the offensive line for Midland University.
Dramse was sad to see the high school season end and enjoyed his time with his Blue Devil teammates as he also progressed to get onto the field.
“It’s been a good four years I’d think anyways,” Dramse added. “Going from not really seeing the field much my freshman through junior year to being a nine-game starter my senior year.”
Wayne High finished 2-7 this past fall with dominant home wins over Omaha Brownell Talbot (36-13) and Schuyler (33-0).
Along with what he plans on continuing to do and the chance to play at the next level gave Dramse some more motivation to finish this school year strong with the sport he has a passion for waiting next fall.
“Eating a lot and getting big, hitting the gym,” Dramse mentioned. “There’s a while here I didn’t think I was going to go play anywhere. So, I just got real excited when I got the offer, real nice. Started getting back in the weight room and getting ready.”
Along with competing on the Wayne football team, Jaden Dramse also bowled the past four years gaining more memories with his teammates at state. He plans on going out for golf this spring for the Blue Devils.
Dramse will attend Midland University two weeks early before the fall classes for fall camp. Midland University recently finished 6-5 on the season and 5-5 in the GPAC. The Warriors are coached by Jeff Jamrog.
Wayne High will have another signing that will be rescheduled from last week due to the cold temperatures being Kasen York signing with Doane for cross country and track & field.
