For the second time this season, a member of the Wayne State College softball team collected a weekly conference honor.
According to a release from Wayne State Athletics, sophomore catcher Reagan Dreibelbis was named as the Northern Sun Conference Softball Player of the Week following her performance in six games on the Wildcats’ spring break trip in Florida.
A graduate of Omaha Marian HS and a transfer from Nebraska-Omaha, Dreibelbis hit .357 over the weekend in six games with three homers and 10 RBI and a 1.071 slugging percentage.
The 'Cats finished 8-2 during their time in Florida.
The Wayne State College softball team won 7-4 over Seton Hill (PA), 8-0 against Dominican (NY), lost 2-0 to Lynn (FL), won 12-2 over Queens College (NY), 9-1 against Edinboro (PA), 3-0 over Ashland (OH), lost 2-1 to Grand Valley State (MI) and won 14-3 over Clarion (PA).
WSC finished off their final two games during their spring break trip in Florida on Wednesday where the 'Cats won 6-5 over Northwood (MI) and 12-2 against Point Park (PA) to improve to 20-4.
Wayne State College softball is off until their NSIC opener at Minnesota Duluth (March 21) and at Bemidji State (March 22). Both doubleheaders will start at noon.
