Members of the Wayne Eagles Auxiliary #3757 recently presented a check to Children's Nebraska.
The auxiliary had a raffle in June of this year that raised $3,000 for the State Presidents' Project. This year that project is Children's Nebraska, formerly known as Children's Hospital of Omaha.
Worthy State President Doug Wiese and State Madam President Amy L. Melvin chose Children's Nebraska as their joint charity for 2024-2025. Children's Nebraska in Omaha is a 225-bed non-profit organization caring for children since 1948. With a mission to Improve the Life of Every Child, through exceptional care, advocacy, research and education, Children's is the only full-service pediatric specialty health center in Nebraska, providing more than 50 pediatric specialties, as well as primary care. Patients are referred from throughout the five-state region and beyond for treatment of complex childhood diseases. At Children's, no child in need of medical care is ever turned away due to inability to pay.
The group applied for a grant from the Grand Eagles Aerie and received a $5,000 grant.
From June 1 of this year to May 31, 2025, all 29 Eagles Clubs of Nebraska will raise money for Children's Nebraska. The total amount raised will be announced at the June 2025 Convention.
Whenever any of these clubs have an event for this project, the State President and their charity team will be there to help.
