Elkhorn Valley LEPC extents free invite to Hazmat Night Out

Posted

Wayne County is part of the Elkhorn Valley Local Emergency Planning Committee and is putting out an invite for everyone to visit with first responders about hazardous materials in the area.

According to Director of Wayne County Emergency Management Nic Kemnitz, other counties involved include Antelope, Cuming, Dixon, Madison, Pierce and Stanton.

This year’s event is being held at the Central Valley Ag 80-20 facility located at 86524 Hwy 81, Randolph from 6 to 8 p.m. on July 9.

CVA is providing food for the event which is free to attend. The group asks all those attending to pre-register at the link found at the end of the article so that CVA can get a head count in advance for the food.

This is also an opportunity for residents to see industrial facilities that they live and work near but have never gotten to walk through. Additional emergency planning activities will also be shared for the local area.

For those bringing a group of people (such as a fire department or family members), organizers  state just indicate the number of people coming at the registration link without having everyone go in and register individually.

Attendees will be required to wear long pants and close-toed shoes for the tour (no tank tops).
