A big win on the road against AVCA No. 6 ranked Concordia-St. Paul, evidently, doesn’t mean much to those who compile the NCAA Div. II regional rankings.

Wayne State stayed put at No. 9 in this week’s rankings, coming off a big win at Concordia-St. Paul, sweeping the Golden Bears on their home floor in the process.

Wayne State also remains two spots behind Central Missouri, who has a worse record against teams in region (16-5 vs 18-5) and in Div. II (20-7 vs. 22-5) and also has a worse record than Wayne State against Top 15 competition (1-4 vs. 6-3).

The top four spots stay the same, with Nebraska-Kearney, Minnesota Duluth, Concordia-St. Paul and Northern State leading the way. Following them are Washburn, St. Cloud State, Central Missouri, Northwest Missouri State, Wayne State and Winona State.

The three tournament champions from the Northern Sun, MIAA and Great American Conference, along with the next five teams in the region, advance to the NCAA Div. II national tournament when the field is announced in late November.
