District championship bowling returned to Wayne this time for the girls team while the Wayne girls, Laurel-Concord-Coleridge boys, Winside girls and Tri County Northeast girls all competed in their respective conference tournaments on Feb. 2.
From Wildcat Lanes in Wayne, the Blue Devil girls bowling team will await a wildcard berth to state following a semifinal loss to the eventual B-6 District Champion Humphrey-Lindsay.
In the individual portion, Wayne will send three to state being led by district champion Gracyn Johnson (507).
Other qualifiers are Graycen Trautman (district runner-up, 473) and McKaeya Becker tied for third (471).
The 2026 NSAA State Bowling Championships for boys are scheduled for Feb. 9 at 9 a.m. (Class B boys singles) followed by the Class B girls singles at 1:30 p.m.
The Class B boys team championships will be on Feb. 10 at 8 a.m. followed by the Class B girls team championships at 2 p.m. Boys finals will start at 7 p.m. that night followed by the girls.
The Wayne boys won the B-5 District Championships on Feb. 28 in Wayne while also placing four in the individual championships. They were Aiden Petersen (district champion, 641), Dylan Jensen took third (594), Konnor Kai finished fourth (583) followed by one pin from Ben Haschke (582).

From West Point (GACC) during the Mid State Conference Tournament opening round, #6 Wayne girls (basketball) suffered a 43-38 loss against #3 Crofton.
The Blue Devil girls (11-10, dropped back-to-back) will next travel to O'Neill for the consolation round on Feb. 5 facing #10 Cedar Catholic at 6 p.m.
First round boys tourney play will open on Feb. 3 for #5 Wayne (10-9) taking on #4 Ponca at (7:30 p.m.) from Norfolk Catholic.
From Plainview during the Greater Northeast Activities Conference Tournament, the sixth-seeded Laurel-Concord-Coleridge boys snapped a two-game losing streak thanks to a 54-47 overtime win against #3 Summerland.
The LCC boys (7-12) will next travel to Norfolk (Lutheran High Northeast for the semifinal round on Feb. 5 facing #2 Plainview at 7:30 p.m.
The #3 LCC girls (13-7) will open first round GNAC action on Feb. 3 in Atkinson (West Holt) taking on #6 Neligh-Oakdale at 7:30 p.m.
From Wynot during round two of the Lewis and Clark Conference girls basketball tournament, #6 Winside suffered a 68-42 loss to #3 Homer.
The Wildcats (7-13) will next play on Feb. 5 against #7 Walthill in Wausa at 7:30 p.m. needing to win to advance to the fifth place game.
The sixth-seeded Winside boys (5-12) will open their tourney play in round two on Feb. 3 in Randolph facing #3 Wausa at 6 p.m.
From Bloomfield during round two of the Lewis and Clark Conference girls basketball tournament, #8 Tri County Northeast suffered a 67-26 loss at #1 Bloomfield.
The Wolfpack (4-15) will next face #4 Wausa on Feb. 5 in Wausa at 6 p.m. needing to win to advance to the fifth place game.
The 10th seeded TCNE boys (3-15) will return to tourney play at #2 Randolph on Feb. 3 at 7:30 p.m.
Consolation round action of the East Husker Conference Tournament for #14 Wakefield girls (3-16) will continue on Feb. 3 in Lyons facing #13 Madison at 6 p.m.
The seventh-seeded Wakefield boys (12-6) will return to action during the EHC quarterfinals traveling to #2 Pender on Feb. 3 at 7:30 p.m.
