Wayne boys, Tri County Northeast boys, Winside boys, Wakefield (G/B) and Laurel-Concord-Coleridge girls basketball competed in their respective conference tournament games on Feb. 3. Wayne boys co-op swimming (Norfolk High) was also in action.
 
From Norfolk Catholic during the Mid State Conference Tournament opening round, #5 Wayne boys held onto a 35-33 win against #4 Ponca.
 
The Blue Devil boys (11-9) will next travel to Albion (Boone Central) for the semifinal round on Feb. 6 facing #1 Norfolk Catholic at 7:30 p.m.
 
The sixth-seeded Wayne girls (11-10) are back on the court on Feb. 5 during the consolation round in O'Neill taking on #10 Cedar Catholic at 6 p.m.
 
 
From Randolph during the second round of the Lewis and Clark Conference Tournament and first game for the Wildcats, #6 Winside boys dropped a 60-29 decision against #3 Wausa.
 
The Winside boys (5-13) will next play on Feb. 6 in Walthill facing #10 Tri County Northeast at 7:30 p.m. The winner will advance to the fifth place game.
 
The sixth-seeded Winside girls (7-13) will return to the court in Wausa on Feb. 5 facing #7 Walthill at 7:30 p.m. needing to win to advance to the fifth place game.
 
 
Also in Randolph during the second round of the Lewis and Clark Conference Tournament, #10 Tri County Northeast boys suffered a 62-53 loss at #2 Randolph.
 
The Wolfpack (3-16) will next play on Feb. 6 in Walthill facing #6 Winside at 7:30 p.m. needing to win to advance to the fifth place game.
 
The eighth-seeded Tri County Northeast girls (4-15) will return to the court in Wausa on Feb. 5 facing #4 Wausa at 6 p.m. needing to win to advance to the fifth place game.
 
 
From Atkinson (West Holt) during the opening round of the Greater Northeast Activities Conference Tournament, #3 LCC girls won 66-24 against #6 Neligh-Oakdale.
 
The Laurel-Concord-Coleridge girls (14-7) will next travel to Tilden (Elkhorn Valley) for the semifinal round on Feb. 6 taking on #2 West Holt at 7:30 p.m.
 
The sixth-seeded LCC boys (7-12) will next travel to Norfolk (Lutheran High Northeast) on Feb. 5 to face #2 Plainview at 7:30 p.m. in the GNAC semifinals.
 
 
From Pender during the quarterfinal round of the East Husker Conference Tournament, #7 Wakefield boys lost 67-43 against #2 Pender.
 
The Trojans (12-7) will next compete on Feb. 6 in the second consolation round with opponent, location and time TBA.
 
From Lyons in the first consolation round, the 14th-seeded Wakefield girls (3-17) suffered a 34-31 loss against #13 Madison to finish the EHC tourney with an 0-2 record.
 
 
From Lincoln Southwest High School, the Norfolk boys swim team won 106-59 against LSW.
