Felix E. Marks,  81,  of Wayne, died Monday, Oct. 2, 2023.

Felix E. Marks was born in Omaha, Nebraska on June 26, 1942.  He was adopted by Harry and Marie (Knigge) Marks. In 1959, Felix worked as a hospital aide in an Omaha Hospital. Throughout his life he lived in the Regional Center in Lincoln, Regional Center in Norfolk, Dahl’s nursing home in Wayne, Heritage nursing home in Emerson, Kirkwood House in Wayne and his final home was Countryview Care of Wayne.

Felix was at Kirkwood House from 1989-2016.  During his entire time there, he would walk to attend Mass each Sunday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He also would go to the movie theater in Wayne every Friday night. The movie theater staff would even call Kirkwood House and let them know if they thought Felix might like the movie that was currently being shown.  He made new friends up and down Main street during his many travels.  He would walk to Casey’s each day to get his drink of choice.  Through all these years, the staff and patrons at Kirkwood House, the movie theater and Casey’s took care of him and treated him as a part of their families.  He also would attend the Senior Center for lunch and activities at least once a week. Felix moved to Countryview in 2016.

Felix touched the lives and hearts of each person he met.  He would always remember details about you, your family and your children.  He especially loved his sugar cookies and would ask St. Mary’s volunteers if they brought sugar cookies each time they came to visit.

Felix was preceded in death by his adopted parents, Harry and Marie Marks and his adopted brother, Donald Marks.

Felix was a very special person.  Not many people can say that they brought joy to everyone they talked to and were loved by so many.  Felix was that person and he will be truly missed.
