Fern Delores (Horton) Kramer was born Feb. 6, 1940 to Arthur and Mildred (Amick) Horton. Fern was the shortest of the kids. Fern married Everett Hamilton. To this marriage, two children were born  - Terry Wayne and Tammy Marie. They later divorced and both went on to remarry others and remained friends throughout their lives. On May 27, 1977 Fern married Larry William Kramer in Yankton South Dakota. Soon after, they welcomed their daughter, Trudy Lynn, into their lives.

Fern spent several years working for Montgomery Ward, dispatching for a rendering company, Daylight Donuts and at the Wayne Care Centre. Her biggest adventure was running the F & L Variety Store in Wayne with Larry. They grew the most amazing vegetables for others to enjoy. For many years, Fern beamed with pride and celebrated her accomplishments at the county fair earning ribbons for her canning and baking. Her love for cats was as strong as her love for flowers and the color purple. She was always seen wearing cat t-shirts. Many of her days you could listen to her talk about all the beautiful flowers she had grown.

Fern and Larry made their home in Wayne until moving to Thurston in 2009. Fern and Larry spread their wealth of knowledge of flowers, gardening, crafts, and tinkering with junk onto Trudy, Riley, and Skyler, for which they will forever be grateful for. Fern loved attending her grandchildren’s activities.

Survivors include her son, Terry Hamilton; daughters, Tammy (Joe) Dangel, Trudy Kramer (Joe Venteicher); grandchildren, Jennifer, Zachary, Dusty, Carleena, Joyce, Riley (Karlee), Skyler; two great-grandchildren; brother, Ken Horton; sister-in-law, Mary Kramer; brothers-in-law, Ron Kramer, Jim Granquist, Bill (Lynn) Kramer; four great-grand puppies, Willow, Aspen, Ozzy, Stella; many nieces, nephews, and friends.
