The Wayne Volunteer Fire Department was called over the noon hour to fight a field fire south of Wayne.
With the lack of precipitation as of late, fires like this can be the result of a spark off of a piece of farm equipment, an overflowing burn barrel or a poorly extinguished cigarette. Be mindful!
