First day of May brings in two new COVID-19 cases

Northeast Nebraska Public Health Department (NNPHD) reported two new positive cases of confirmed COVID-19 within the health district on Friday, May 1. The new patients are residents of Dixon County and Thurston County. Both patients are in their 30s and one is male and the other female. The public health investigations have begun to find close contacts and ensure quarantine and isolation measures are being taken. The sources of the infections have been identified.

As of May 1, there have been 263 COVID-19 tests reported for people living in the NNPHD Health District of Cedar, Dixon, Thurston and Wayne Counties. The results of these tests include 22 positive cases (Cedar - 4, Dixon - 11, Thurston - 5, and Wayne County - 2), 208 negatives, and 33 tests currently pending results.
