As girls are underway with state individual wrestling action, the boys are gearing up for three days at the CHI Health Center Arena.
A total of five straight days of wrestling will take over Omaha with Wayne and Wakefield again being represented during the 2025 NSAA State Wrestling Championships on the boys side. Competition will last from Thursday, February 20 – Saturday, February 22.
Among Class B, Wayne will have four in action being junior Ethan Gregory (120), 20-16; freshman Noah Magnuson (132), 21-25; junior Grant Maas (150), 33-6 and sophomore Maddox Ziska (285), 23-16.
For Wakefield in Class C, junior Domingo Centino (144) will showcase a record of 27-12.
Classes A/D first round will open at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday followed by quarterfinals while Classes B/C will begin first round matches at 3 p.m. followed by quarterfinals.
Moving into a full day of wrestling on Friday, Classes A/D will start with first round consolation matches at 9:30 a.m. followed by second round consolation matches. Classes B/C will return Friday at 12:30 p.m. for first and second round consolation matches.
Friday night’s semifinals will open at 6 p.m. along with third round consolation matches for all classes.
Championship Saturday will showcase consolation semifinals at 9 a.m. for all classes which will be followed by third and fifth place matches. The finals will begin at 3 p.m. for all classes with four mats representing one from each class.
Several from the area also qualified .
