All five Wayne Herald area high school football teams were on the road, Wayne State College women's soccer began a series of four straight home matches while #14 Wayne State College volleyball was in a dog fight with #16 Minnesota Duluth all on Friday, September 26.

From Rice Auditorium in Wayne, it was a top 20 NSIC showdown in DII volleyball where the host Wildcats pulled out the reverse sweep in five sets over #16 UMD (23-25, 25-27, 25-19, 27-25, 15-11).

#14 WSC (10-2/4-0 NSIC) will next host Bemidji State on Saturday at 5 p.m.

From the WSC Soccer Pitch, the Wildcat women's soccer team used a penalty kick goal late in the second half to force a 1-1 tie against Minnesota Duluth.

The Wildcats (3-0-3/2-0-1 NSIC) will next host Bemidji State on Sunday at 1 p.m.

From Walthill, the Winside football team won their fourth straight thanks to a 72-40 Friday afternoon victory.

The Wildcats (4-1) will next host Bancroft-Rosalie on Friday, October 3 at 7 p.m.

From O'Neill, Wayne High suffered a 47-21 loss at O'Neill.

The Blue Devils (1-4) will next host Columbus Lakeview on Friday, October 3 at 7 p.m.

From Tilden, Laurel-Concord-Coleridge dropped a 34-31 decision at Elkhorn Valley.

LCC (2-3) had their two-game winning streak snapped and will next host Plainview on Friday, October 3 at 7 p.m. during homecoming.

From Beemer, Wakefield suffered a 43-20 loss at Guardian Angels Central Catholic.

The Trojans (0-5) will next visit Tri County Northeast on Friday, October 3 in Allen at 7 p.m.

From Wisner, Tri County Northeast lost 58-8 at Wisner-Pilger.

The Wolfpack (0-5) will host Wakefield on Friday, October 3 at 7 p.m. in Allen during homecoming.
