Friday, Sept. 25 was a successful day of fundraising for the Wayne County Dolly Parton Imagination Library.
The group honored Dolly’s legacy by encouraging donations on Sept. 25 as a nod to Parton’s famous song, “9 to 5.”
The local chapter saw approximately $2,200 in donations come in. The matching donor contributed $2,500 to the cause, for a grand total of over $4,700.
Many Wayne State College Education students also enjoyed participating in “Dolly Day" by doing read alouds. There were 20 WSC students who read to several classrooms of children at the Early Learning Center and Little Roots Child Development Center at 9:25 Friday morning. This provided a great opportunity to make connections between children in the community and WSC students.
