Members of a newly created Wayne Area Legacy Fund, along with members of the community gathered Tuesday to "turn on their dream switch" in regard to the future of Wayne.
Facilitated by Greta Leach and Anders Olson with the Nebraska Community Foundation, the group brainstormed on things they would like to see in the community within the next 20 years.
After compiling a list of 'dreams' the group arranged them into specific categories, such as entertainment, a culture of sustainability, attracting growth, education and relationships.
Information gathered at Tuesday's meeting will be presented to the Advisory Committee as the group moves forward to create a 501C3 Foundation in which community members can contribute for the good of the community, rather than specific projects.
