The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission has announced its spring schedule for stocking rainbow trout in ponds and lakes across the state.

This includes a stop in Wayne at the Prairie Park Lake in Wayne.

As part of the spring stocking effort, Game and Parks fish hatchery staff will release 12-inch rainbow trout to kick off the open-water fishing season. Wayne's stocking is scheduled for Tuesday, March 10 at approximately 10 a.m. at the lake.

Game and Parks also reminds the public that anglers 16 years of age and older are required to have a valid Nebraska Fishing Permit. In addition, the city of Wayne Parks and Recreation Department asks that visitors note that fish cleaning is not allowed in the restrooms at Prairie Park.
