Gary W. Jeffrey, 89, of Wayne Gary died Saturday, April 19, 2025 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 25 at First United Methodist Church in Wayne.Visitation will be Friday from 9:30 a.m. until service time at First United Methodist Church in Wayne. Burial with military rites will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Wayne.
Memorial funds in memory of Gary may be directed to the Jeffrey family to be designated at a future date.
Arrangements are with Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne.
Gary Wayne Jeffrey was born in Wayne Sept. 1, 1935 to Robert Claire and Eva Marie (Liveringhouse) Jeffrey. He graduated from Wayne High School and served in the United States Army from May 27, 1958 to May 17, 1960. His military service was spent at Fort Carson, Colorado, Fort Bliss, Texas and in Germany. After his military discharge, Gary worked in Omaha as a surveyor before moving back to Wayne. He then worked in construction for Louie Thos and then worked for Love Signs. He spent the next several years working at the Transfer Station for the City of Wayne. He was a member of American Legion and enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Survivors include a brother, Lynn (Chic) Jeffrey of Wayne and a sister, Joni Kumm of Norfolk; many nieces and nephews; and cousins.
Preceding Gary in death were his grandparents; parents; and a brother, Warren Robbie Jeffrey.
