Gayle Ann (Schrieber) Mau, 72 of Windsor, Colorado, died Sunday, Aug. 18, 2024, at her home.
Funeral services will be on Friday, Aug. 23 at 2 pm at Bethel Lutheran Church in Windsor, Colorado. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 26 at Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Wakefield
Local arrangements are with Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne.
Gayle Ann (Schrieber) Mau was born Aug. 22, 1951, in Wayne, to Elmer and Bonnie (Hinnerichs) Schrieber. She was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wakefield on Sept. 23, 1951, and later confirmed on June 6, 1965. Gayle attended Dixon County Rural School and then graduated from Wayne High School in 1969.
On May 23, 1971 she married the love of her life, Doug Mau, at Immanuel Lutheran Church. The couple lived in Wayne where they were blessed with two daughters, Jennifer and Heather. In 1985 the couple decided to move their family to Windsor, Colorado. Gayle worked in the food service for many years.
When Gayle retired she loved to spend time with her family and many friends.
Survivors include her daughters Jennifer (Aaron) Smith of Windsor, Colorado, and Heather (Shawn) Derr of Fort Collins, Colorado; grandsons, Jessy Jaramillo, Chance Derr and SJ Derr, and her granddaughter, Bailey Leder; a sister, Kim (Larry) Creighton; brother-in-law, Tom (Ceil) Mau, and sister-in-law, Lori (Tom) Burns; many nieces and nephews, along with her faithful, loving, snack-eating companion Cylus.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Doug; her parents, Elmer and Bonnie Schrieber; a sister, Cynthia Husmann; mother-in-law Dorothy Mau and father-in-law Howard Mau; along with her nephew, Matthew Creighton, and niece, Melissa Mau.
