Gerald 'Gerry' Langston

Gerald H. “Gerry” Langston, 77 of Pender, died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015 at Legacy Gardens Living Facility in Pender.

Per Gerald’s wishes, cremation with a private family service will be held at a later date.

Gerald H. “Gerry” Langston was born Feb. 15, 1938 in Topeka, Kan., the son of Ernest and Pearl (Stanley) Langston. He attended school in Mountainburg, Ark., and joined the Air Force at age 17, working in intelligence. He married Marsha Osnower in Kansas City, Mo, resulting in four children from this union. They later divorced. After the Air Force, he worked as a head cook and later went into home construction. Gerry also worked as a mechanic and a gas station/convenience store manager until his move to Arkansas, where he retired due to health issues. Gerry and his family lived in Colorado, Missouri and Arizona, later settling in Wayne in 1971 to be near family. He later married Wanda and settled in Arkansas until his health faltered, moving to Pender, in 2001 to be near his children. Gerry enjoyed model trains, gardening, fishing, cooking, antiquing, and restoration projects of both houses and cars.

Survivors include his wife Wanda (Dalton) Langston of Nortonville, Kan.; son Rob Langston and three daughters; Debbie (Gerry) Bennett, Connie (Craig) Gehring both of Sioux City, Iowa, and Jerri Wiles (Tom Perez) of Pender; one brother Donald (Geraldine) Langston of Valley View, Kan.; 18 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.


Memorials in remembrance of Gerry may be directed to Legacy Gardens in Pender.

Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa.
