Mass of Christian Burial for Germaine M. Kaup, 82, of Wayne will be Saturday, Aug. 21 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in  Wayne.  Visitation will be at the church on Friday, Aug. 20 from 5 to 7 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 7 p.m. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Wayne.

Memorials may be directed to the Kaup family for later designation.

Arrangements are with Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne.

She died Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2021 at her home in Wayne.

Germaine Margaret Kaup was born Oct. 28, 1938 near West Point in Cuming County to Adolph and Margaret (Batenhorst) Kreikemeier.  She grew up on a farm in rural West Point and graduated from Mount Marty High School in Yankton, South Dakota.  She worked as a nurse’s aid at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point. Germaine married William Kaup on Oct. 25, 1960 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Monterey.  The couple owned Kaup’s TV Service for 37 years in Wayne. Germaine was an avid believer in Catholic Education and served on the parish Board of Education for several years.

Survivors include her husband, William; their children, Brenda (Ken) Croisant of Bellevue, Karen (fiance’ Kevin Cox) Mecseji of Wayne, Mike (Teresa) Kaup of Wayne, David Kaup of Carroll, Jason Kaup of Norfolk, Randy (Carly) Kaup of Wayne, Tony Kaup of Norfolk, Crystal (Clint) Kmoch of Omaha; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Arnold Kreikemeier of West Point, Adolph Jr (Margaret) Kreikemeier of West Point, and Eugene (Suzanne) Kreikemeier of Norfolk; brother-in-law, Leonard Peatrowsky of Fort Collins, Colorado; and sister-in-law, Patricia Kreikemeier of Fremont.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Dorothy Kreikemeier and Imelda Peatrowsky; brothers, Jerome, Gerald, Raymond and Francis; sisters-in-law, Jeanie and Marilyn.
