Wayne High senior Ashten Gibson signed a letter of intent to play softball next season at Central Community College in Columbus.
A four-year letterwinner for the Blue Devils, Gibson was a pitcher and infielder for the Blue Devils this past season, helping the team reach the Class B state tournament. She played in the state tournament all four years as a member of the Blue Devil team under coach Rob Sweetland.
With her on her signing day were her parents, Shannon and Brian Gibson, brother Jess, Sweetland and CCC coach Jack Gutierrez.
Gibson plans to study psychology at CCC and transfer to a four-year school.
